Saturn Run |
It is the year 2150. Dan Larssen escapes from a dust-poor farming background to train as a pilot at the prestigious Space Fleet Academy. He is drawn to Neraya Delvaux, an enigmatic girl with a tragic past. Dan clashes with Karl Stott, the arrogant son of a Fleet-Admiral, and they contrive to have Dan expelled. Taking what freelance work he can, Dan unwittingly becomes involved with rival interplanetary crime syndicates. Before long he is trapped on a downward spiral.
His one chance to return to normality—and to Neraya—comes in the form of a dangerous solo mission, manning a freighter to a quasi-military installation orbiting Saturn. But Karl Stott is now a director of SpaceFreight, the company running the mission, and his hatred for Dan is undiminished. The multiple dangers begin to unfold when Dan is already deep in the loneliest reaches of space.
Scientific accuracy adds to the credibility of this odyssey of the 22nd century.
